This is best for kids with some circuitry and coding experience. Ten year olds must have taken GadgetHeads and have some experience with coding.
This is the newest version of the always evolving CodeHeads workshop. We’ll make ridiculously fun robots that are both self driving and remote controlled. We’ll use recycled: toys, cardboard boxes, TV remotes, small audio devices and anything else can find to make a unique take home robot that is as fun to play with as it is to make. Here’s a link to a video of one of my prototype bots. Her name is SheBot and she dances!
This robot is not a click together kit. The kids will do all the wiring and coding themselves. The workshop requires experience building circuits or GadgetHeads as a pre-rec and some coding experience at Gadget Lab or elsewhere. The code is simple but includes powerful tools that are typically taught in a first semester high school or college course. But don’t worry about the kids sitting all day, they’ll be out of their chairs taking things apart, splicing components and decorating their bots. At Gadget Lab kids never sit all day with their hands on a mouse, eyes on a screen – even in coding class!
Refund Policy: All workshops have a minimum of three students and a maximum of five students. Slots are held once I receive payment. Due to the small size of Gadget Lab, I can’t offer refunds unless I am able to find a replacement. If a replacement is found, there will be a $25 fee.
